The ExpresS-Lift is based on the minimal-incision S-Lift face lift. The S-Lift is a type of face lift that provides an overall lift to your neck and the lower part of your face. Compared to a traditional face lift, it is a quicker operation with fewer complications, and a much faster recovery. The ExpresS-Lift is a minimum-incision face lift (the skin incision is relatively short compared to traditional face lifts), and the resulting scar is inconspicuous. The most remarkable feature of the ExpresS-Lift is the rapid recovery, with relatively little bruising and swelling.
The ExpresS-Lift procedure is designed to improve the most visible signs of aging and restore a more youthful appearance to the face and neck. The procedure can improve the appearance of sagging facial skin of the lower face as well as jowls and loose neck skin.
Benefits of ExpresS-Lift Face Lift include:
- Smoother neck area.
- Reduced jowls
- Refined jawline and chin
- Improved appearance of sagging lower facial skin
- Restores the lower face and neck to its more youthful appearance

Common Questions & Answers About ExpresS-Lift Face Lift
What is an ExpresS-Lift Face Lift?
The ExpresS-Lift is a minimum-incision face-lift (the skin incision is relatively short compared to traditional face-lifts), and the resulting scar is inconspicuous. This procedure provides an overall lift to your neck and the lower third of your face. Compared to a traditional face lift, The ExpresS-Lift is a quicker operation with fewer complications, and a much faster recovery.
Only local anesthesia is used during an ExpresS-Lift. The local anesthetic affords the following advantages: the procedure is painless, there is very little bleeding, and subsequently little bruising and swelling (thus a rapid recovery).
Who is the best candidate for ExpresS-Lift Face Lift?
The ExpresS-Lift is particularly well suited for physically healthy middle-aged and younger patients who are realistic in their expectations regarding the appearance of loose facial and neck skin. Many patients elect to have an ExpresS-Lift performed at a younger age at the first signs of a sagging lower face — creating a less dramatic and less noticeable change than if they had waited longer. However, as long as you are healthy, an ExpresS-Lift can be performed at any age and can deliver remarkable results.
How is an ExpresS-Lift different from a traditional face lift?
Similar to a face lift, an ExpresS-lift rejuvenates the lower portion of the face and neck. The ExpresS-lift also lifts the cheeks, improves the nasolabial folds and rejuvenates the midface.
Unlike other "mini-facelifts" that only tighten the skin, the ExpresS-Lift is a real face lift, with tightening of the connective tissue layer below the skin (this is called the "Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System" or SMAS). Because of the tightening of the SMAS, it is also necessary to remove some of the skin just in front of and above the ear. Minimal tension on the skin reduces visible scarring.
Can other procedures be performed at the same time as an ExpresS-Lift?
In most patients liposuction of the neck and jowls is performed along with the ExpresS-Lift. Certain additional procedures can be performed at the same time as an ExpresS-Lift. Dr. Langdon will discuss with you the best treatment plan to achieve your desired results.
How long does an ExpresS-Lift Face Lift take to perform?
Treatment times vary from patient to patient but typically ExpresS-Lift face lifts are performed within three to four hours.
What is the recovery like?
After an ExpresS-Lift face lift, some numbness, bruising and swelling will occur. Bruising typically takes 7-10 days to fade. Many patients will return to work within one to two weeks of their ExpresS-Lift procedure.
What are the complications of an ExpresS-Lift Face Lift?
Every surgical procedure carries certain risks and the potential for complications. The potential complications associated with the ExpresS-Lift procedure may include the following: bruising, swelling, sensitivity to anesthesia, asymmetry, infection, nerve injury and poor healing.
