Commonly Asked Questions about Fraxel® Laser Skin Resurfacing at The Langdon Center in Guilford
What is Fraxel® Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Fraxel® Laser Skin Resurfacing is a quick and comfortable laser procedure with minimal downtime, used to improve the overall appearance of your skin. Unlike traditional laser resurfacing, in which layers of skin are removed over the entire treated area, the Fraxel® performs fractional resurfacing. Tiny microscopic spots of laser energy treat about 20% of the surface area in a typical Fraxel® treatment. The tiny spots of laser energy penetrate deep enough into the skin to remove even deep pigmentary problems such as melasma and to stimulate synthesis of new collagen, which results in smoothing of wrinkles and acne scars and shrinkage of pore size. Fraxel® laser treatments are safe for all areas of the body and can even improve stretch marks.
Fraxel® Laser Skin Resurfacing at The Langdon Center treats sun damage, wrinkles and acne scars and increases collagen production, which improves your skin’s tone and texture.
Where can Fraxel® Laser Skin Resurfacing be used?
The most common areas treated with the Fraxel® Laser are those that receive the most sun, such as the face, neck, chest and hands.
How long does the treatment take?
A treatment normally takes approximately 20 – 40 minutes, although time varies depending upon the area being treated.
How soon will I see results?
Obvious results can be seen after just one treatment with continued improvement over time. Frequently, four to six treatments are recommended, separated by two to four weeks, in order to achieve optimal results.
What will I experience after the treatment?
While individual results vary, Fraxel® offers the benefits of speedy healing and minimal downtime. Side effects usually include mild swelling and redness. Mild swelling should subside within two to three days, and redness usually fades over five to seven days. There is limited, if any, risk of infection or scarring.
How Much Does Fraxel® Laser Skin Resurfacing cost at The Langdon Center in Guilford?
Each body area has a different fee and every person’s skin requires a different number of treatments for the best results. Please contact us for a specific cost.
