Laser Vein Removal

Non-Surgical Laser Treatments Laser Vein Removal

Many people don’t think twice about the veins running under their skin. Others, however, are frustrated with redness and complexion issues caused by varicose veins and broken capillaries. If you want clearer, brighter skin unmarred by facial veins, laser vein removal at the Langdon Center can help.

What is Laser Vein Removal?

Laser vein removal is a treatment for varicose veins, spider veins, rosacea, and other redness by breaking down damaged veins. Vascular problems are a common cause of facial redness and complexion issues. We all have facial veins, but typically, they are invisible beneath the skin. If they become enlarged or broken, however, they may have an unwanted effect on your appearance. Unsightly spider veins are also common on the legs.

We often treat the following areas with laser vein removal:

  • Nose
  • Cheeks
  • Chin

Laser vein removal treatments deliver infrared or BroadBand Light energy that precisely treats visible vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, lesions, and discoloration of your skin. Broken capillaries and other visible vascular structures will be gently removed from the visible layers of your skin’s surface. The laser energy heats unwanted blood vessels, causing them to coagulate. They gradually become less noticeable and, in most cases, disappear.

At the Langdon Center, we use laser vein removal for:

  • Rosacea
  • Broken capillaries
  • Telangiectasia
  • Facial veins
  • Redness
  • Spider hemangiomas
  • Pigmented facial lesions

Frequently Asked Questions

The Langdon Center offers the most cutting-edge laser technology to give our patients the best treatment options. During a detailed consultation, Dr. Langdon will evaluate your vascular concerns to determine which laser or light therapy treatment will be most effective. He often performs laser vein removal with BroadBand Light PhotoFacials or the PiQo4 laser.

Your exact procedure experience will depend on your customized treatment. Depending on the size of your treatment area, the procedure typically only takes 10-15 minutes. Most people describe laser vein treatment as feeling like the snap of a rubber band against the skin. We will apply a cool gel to your skin to minimize any discomfort. If desired, a cold compress may be applied after treatment.

Laser vein removal is a non-invasive treatment with minimal downtime and side effects. Patients can resume their usual activities immediately after a BBL PhotoFacial and most laser treatments. You may experience minor bruising and redness in the treatment area, which generally resolves within a few days.

Dr. Langdon will give you aftercare instructions for your personalized procedure, including how to cleanse and moisturize your skin. Though there typically isn’t any downtime after laser vein removal, he may recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for a few days. Your skin will be more sensitive after treatment, so you should also avoid sun exposure, heat, and harsh products while it recovers.

Laser treatments or BroadBand Light therapy coagulates the unwanted veins, causing them to dissolve over several weeks. Though you’ll see improvements a few weeks after your first treatment, you may need multiple sessions for optimal results. The exact results of laser vein removal depend on which laser or light device is used, how many sessions you have, and how severe your spider veins or lesions are.

You can have repeat treatments as needed to maintain your results. The best way to avoid spider veins, varicose veins, and other vascular issues is with proper skin care and preventative measures. After laser vein removal, be sure to wear sunscreen, use quality skincare products, and be gentle with your skin to prevent future broken capillaries.

Most people who want to reduce facial veins, redness, and spider veins are good candidates for laser vein removal. This treatment can also benefit patients with other skin discoloration and lesions. Large, severe varicose veins may require other treatment options.

We can treat most skin types and tones since Dr. Langdon uses multiple laser and light technologies. Tanned skin can be treated safely, but always inform us if you have been tanning or exposed to the sun within the last three weeks, and we will adjust your treatment settings accordingly to give you the safest, most effective experience.
