Fat Transfer at The Langdon Center in Guilford: Restores Youthful Volume to the Face

Safe and Natural with Minimal Downtime

Most common areas treated with Fat Transfer

  • Naso-labial folds (between the nose and oral commissure, the corner of the mouth)
  • Marionette folds (between oral commissure and jawline)
  • Lips (for volume enhancement)
  • Under-eye area
  • Temples
  • Chin

In Fat Transfer only natural, non-synthetic material (autologous fat) is used to re-contour your face and improve areas that are creased and sunken. During a Fat Transfer procedure, a patient’s own fat is removed from areas such as the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks and is reinjected into specific areas of the face to restore volume. Common areas treated include the cheeks, lips, under-eye and chin.

If you're considering a treatment and are interested in learning how Fat Transfer can help you look younger, please schedule a free consultation by calling us at The Langdon Center 203-453-8625 or click here to contact us.

Commonly Asked Questions about Fat Transfer at The Langdon Center in Guilford.

What is Fat Transfer?
Fat Transfer, also called autologous fat transplantation or micro-lipoinjection, restores facial volume that is lost during the aging process. Fat Transfer is done with the patient's own (autologous) fat rather than synthetic or foreign materials.

How long does a Fat Transfer procedure last?
Most patients will appreciate the results of a Fat Transfer procedure for years. Much of the transferred fat remains in place permanently.

Where can Fat Transfer be used?
Fat Transfer can be used in any area of the face in need of volume restoration. Fat Transfer can also be used to correct aging of the hands and uneven contours resulting from surgery or trauma.

How long does the treatment take?
Treatment time is dependent on the areas being treated and can take up to 2-3 hours.

How soon will I see results?
After the initial swelling subsides (1-3 weeks), the results will be evident.

Is a Fat Transfer procedure painful?
Fat Transfer is performed with local anesthesia, which completely numbs both the donor and recipient areas.

What can I expect after the procedure?
The treated areas will be swollen and somewhat sensitive to the touch for 1 to 3 weeks. There may be mild bruising during the first week. Patients may want to avoid work activities for up to a week until swelling diminishes.

How much does Fat Transfer cost at The Langdon Center in Guilford?
The fee for Fat Transfer is based upon the number of areas being treated.
