A Guide To Dr. Langdon’s ExpresS-Lift Facelift Protocol
October 21, 2023
You might expect a facelift to come with a lot of discomfort and a long recovery period. The ExpresS-Lift facelift provides all the results of a traditional facelift while letting you return to your usual routine much more quickly. The ExpresS-Lift differs from a traditional facelift in several important ways.
What is an ExpresS-Lift Facelift?
An ExpresS-Lift facelift addresses significant signs of aging of the face and neck to restore your youthful appearance. Dr. Langdon has developed this procedure to provide superior results with less downtime and discomfort. This improved version of the traditional facelift will provide naturally lifted, energized results.

A Guide to Dr. Langdon’s ExpresS-Lift Facelift Protocol
The ExpresS-Lift protocol has been developed at the Langdon Center as a way to optimize facelift results while making recovery faster and more comfortable. You can expect the full results of a standard facelift with smaller incisions and faster healing.
What Will My Consultation Be Like?
Every ExpresS-Lift begins with a consultation. You will meet Dr. Langdon and discuss your concerns and goals. He will assess many aspects of your face, including the amount of sagging skin. He will also discuss your medical conditions and history to ensure that a facelift is right for you.
What Kind of Anesthesia is Used?
Unlike a traditional facelift, the ExpresS-Lift avoids general anesthesia and all its risks. Instead, you will receive local anesthesia and sedation. You will feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure.
How is the ExpresS-Lift Performed?
After administering the local anesthetic, Dr. Langdon will make the incisions for the ExpresS-Lift. These “minimal” incisions (about half the length of traditional facelift incisions), are made in front of the ears and just behind the ear lobes, allowing Dr. Langdonhim to lift the skin and other layers while minimizing scars. The ExpresS-Lift addresses the SMAS layers of muscles and connective tissue under the skin to provide a naturally rejuvenated appearance.
The ExpresS-Lift counters the effects of sagging and gravity by lifting the facial structures in a largely vertical direction, avoiding the swept-back, stretched look a conventional facelift can cause. This is why the results of the ExpresS-Lift look so natural. In addition, Dr. Landgon uses minimally invasive techniques that minimize tissue trauma and make recovery easier.

What is Recovery Like After an ExpresS-Lift Facelift?
The use of local anesthesia limits your bruising, swelling and soreness after surgery. Most people experience very little discomfort and can address it with over-the-counter medications for a few days. You can usually return to work within a week or even sooner.
Am I a Good Candidate for an ExpresS-Lift Facelift?
The lack of general anesthesia makes the ExpresS-Lift even safer than the already-safe traditional facelift. Good candidates for this procedure have moderate to severe signs of aging. Candidates should have reasonable expectations and be in overall good health. Only a consultation at the Langdon Center can determine whether this procedure is a good match for you.
