What is Renuvion®?

Renuvion® is a skin-tightening treatment that uses cold plasma energy to contract collagen fibers. Formerly called J-Plasma, this innovative technology offers an effective solution for skin laxity and sagging on the face and body. How Much is Renuvion®?

The price of Renuvion® will vary based on your geographic location, your provider’s experience, and the extent of the treatment. Nationally, the average cost of Renuvion® is $6,654, according to RealSelf.

There are several other factors to consider that may affect your actual price. Treating a larger area, such as the abdomen, may cost more than a small area. Similarly, combining Renuvion® with liposuction will increase the cost, and there may be additional expenses for anesthesia. Dr. Langdon will discuss all these factors with you and create a customized treatment plan during your consultation to give you an accurate estimate.

How Does Renuvion® Work?

Your Renuvion® treatment will be performed with local anesthesia and may take one to three hours, depending on whether liposuction is included. First, Dr. Langdon will make a small incision to place the Renuvion® electrode under your skin. A cannula can be placed through the same incision if you are undergoing liposuction simultaneously.

The Renuvion® device uses radiofrequency energy and helium to create a stream of cold plasma. Dr. Langdon will carefully guide this cold plasma stream, which causes collagen fibers to contract and stimulates your skin to begin producing new collagen. This tissue contraction has an immediate tightening effect, while increased collagen production leads to improved skin tone and health over time.

What to Expect After Renuvion®

You’ll have some mild swelling, bruising, and discomfort after your Renuvion® treatment. Most patients return to work in  a week or less. If your procedure included liposuction, recovery may take slightly longer. You should avoid strenuous exercise for approximately two weeks after Renuvion®.

Renuvion® offers immediate results, though they may be obscured initially by swelling. Within a week or two, you’ll see tighter, firmer skin, which will improve over time as your body heals and produces more collagen. 

Am I a Good Candidate for Renuvion® Skin Tightening?

If you have mild to moderate sagging skin from pregnancy, weight loss, or age, you may benefit from Renuvion®. Good candidates should be overall healthy, at or near their ideal weight, and have realistic expectations.
