Frequently Asked Questions
Fraxel® Laser Skin Resurfacing is a quick and comfortable laser procedure with minimal downtime, used to improve the overall appearance of your skin. Unlike traditional laser resurfacing, in which layers of skin are removed over the entire treated area, the Fraxel® performs fractional resurfacing. Tiny microscopic spots of laser energy treat about 20% of the surface area in a typical Fraxel® treatment. The tiny spots of laser energy penetrate deep enough into the skin to remove even deep pigmentary problems such as melasma and to stimulate synthesis of new collagen, which results in smoothing of wrinkles and acne scars and shrinkage of pore size. Fraxel® laser treatments are safe for all areas of the body and can even improve stretch marks.
Fraxel® Laser Skin Resurfacing at The Langdon Center treats sun damage, wrinkles, and acne scars and increases collagen production, which improves your skin’s tone and texture.
The most common areas treated with the Fraxel® Laser are those that receive the most sun, such as the face, neck, chest, and hands.
A treatment normally takes approximately 20 – 40 minutes, although time varies depending upon the area being treated.
