This advanced laser-assisted lipo procedure is minimally invasive, requires only local anesthesia, and results in less downtime than traditional liposuction. Using local anesthesia rather than general anesthesia also greatly reduces any potential risks. 

The difference between SmartLipo® Triplex® and regular liposuction is the use of a laser to melt the fat before removing it. This causes less trauma because the fat is easier to suction out, and the heat seals small blood vessels, minimizing bruising.

Dr. Langdon will make tiny incisions to insert the cannula with the laser fiber. Once the laser energy liquefies the targeted fat, he will suction it out through the cannula and then stitch the incisions closed. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure typically takes an hour or two. Most patients only require one SmartLipo® treatment.
