What Does Botox Do?
Botox is a muscle-relaxing agent. When injected into a specific area, it prevents the muscle from contracting. It’s this constant muscle contracting and relaxing that causes wrinkles to form. By limiting the movement of the muscle, the appearance of wrinkles and fines lines are minimized.
Furthermore, reduced movement in the muscle prevents new wrinkles from forming. By having regular Botox treatments with Dr. Langdon you can, therefore, prevent the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.
How Long Will My Results Last?
The results of Botox treatments are typically visible within three to five days, although some patients may find it takes seven to ten days for the effects to become visible. Generally, the results of Botox injections last for around four months. As the effects of your treatment begin to wear off, further Botox injections can be given to maintain the efficacy of the treatment.
As a non-invasive form of cosmetic treatment, Botox is easily administered by an experienced surgeon. With extensive experience in the field, Dr. Langdon is well-known for his advanced technique which minimizes discomfort and bruising.
If you’re nervous about treatment or worried about feeling any discomfort, you may choose to have anesthetic applied to the area prior to the Botox injection being administered. This numbing cream ensures the treatment is practically pain-free and doesn’t require any downtime or recovery period. Alternatively, our PRO-NOX™ sedation ensures a pain-free and stress-free experience for patients who are apprehensive about undergoing treatment.
