How Long Does Radiesse® Last?

September 20, 2022

Dermal fillers have become a popular and effective way to address lines, wrinkles, and volume loss. Radiesse® is a filler used to treat deep lines and wrinkles in order to restore a more youthful appearance. It lasts longer than hyaluronic dermal fillers so that you can enjoy your results with fewer maintenance treatments.

What is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is a dermal filler that rapidly adds volume. It also triggers collagen production for long-lasting results. Radiesse® uses a biologically safe material that stimulates cells around it to start making more collagen. This additional collagen maintains your volume and smoothness even after the original filler material has faded.

How Does Radiesse® Work?

Dermal fillers come in many materials. Radiesse® is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite, a laboratory-made duplicate of a mineral naturally found in bone. The particles are suspended in a gel matrix that allows precise filler placement. You will see volume immediately after treatment as a result of this gel, which is replaced by collagen over the following months. New collagen tightens and firms the skin while restoring your natural facial volume.

How Long Does Radiesse® Last?

The injected filler in Radiesse® will gradually fade away. The new collagen that forms in its place gives Radiesse® its long-lasting results. Many people see results lasting two years or even longer. Dr. Langdon and his team will develop a schedule to help you keep your skin looking youthful and smooth. With one treatment every few years, you can maintain your new collagen for as long as you wish.

What Does Radiesse® Treat?

Radiesse® excels at treating deep lines and wrinkles. Many people have Radiesse® to treat nasolabial folds, the creases from the base of the nose to the mouth. Other common locations include the marionette folds on the side of the chin. Radiesse® can sculpt and enhance the cheeks. It can also add volume to the backs of the hands to soften and smooth their appearance.

Is There Any Downtime With Radiesse®?

A typical Radiesse® treatment only takes fifteen minutes, and you can return to your usual activities afterward. To ensure your comfort and relaxation, we offer PRO-NOX™, a fast and effective method of administering nitrous oxide to keep you calm and avoid stress. You can leave the office immediately after treatment and return to your usual routine. Some people notice a few small spots of bruising or sensitivity in the injection area that goes away within a day or two.

Am I a Good Candidate for Radiesse®?

Because Radiesse® uses a lab-produced, purified version of a mineral found in your body, most people do not react to it. You may be a good candidate if you want a long-lasting dermal filler to treat lines and add volume. Radiesse® is safe for all skin types and tones.

The staff at the Langdon Center are amazing! From my first call to my consult to my actual appointment. I felt comfortable and welcomed at every step. Everything, including my results, was beyond my expectation. I would highly recommend
