Swiss Study: Plastic Surgery Boosts Happiness, Self-Esteem
April 9, 2013
Plastic surgery boosts happiness and self-esteem for those without ‘unreasonable’ expectations says a new European study announced last month.
Psychologists from Ruhr Universität and the University of Basel in Switzerland looked at the psychological effects of plastic surgery on 550 patients. Researchers spoke with patients before surgery, as well as at intervals of three, six and twelve months afterwards.
When compared to those who had chosen not to have plastic surgery, the patients that did choose cosmetic surgery “felt healthier, were less anxious, had developed more self-esteem and found the operated body feature in particular, but also their body as a whole, more attractive,” researchers announced.
In other words, if you have realistic expectations, plastic surgery at The Langdon Center in Guilford can boost your confidence and enhance how you look AND feel. Not surprisingly, we have noticed this phenomenon among our Connecticut patients for quite some time, who claim their enhancement has enriched their lives and self-esteem.
Dr. Langdon and all of his nurses and staff are very friendly and they know how to make you feel very comfortable. He is a very experienced doctor, I call him an artistic dr. because he’s so precise in his work. If you would like something done right, dr. Langdon is the one to see. I am very pleased with my results and very grateful for him and his staff being here in Ct.
