We’re now in the holiday get-together season, and with it usually come parties, big meals and other special events. For many, these activities may include an increase in alcohol consumption. Unfortunately, with too much alcohol, even our skin feels hung over.
Alcohol dehydrates your body and depletes it of vital nutrients. This can lead to dull skin, a worn-out appearance and puffiness under the eyes. Drinking may also cause intermittent blood vessel dilation, which over time could become permanent, resulting in spider veins. If you already have a tendency toward rosacea or even psoriasis, you may notice flare ups.
Indulge a little but only in moderation. Drink additional water to keep your hydration up when having cocktails, wine or holiday favorites like eggnog! Happy Holidays!
