In an effort to provide patients with the most up-to-date and advanced treatments, Dr. Robert Langdon of The Langdon Center recently traveled to New York City to receive advanced training on Sculptra® from world-renowned dermatologist Dr. Danny Vleggaar.
Dr. Vleggaar is a pioneer of the new Sculptra techniques for facial sculpting. He practices in Geneva, Switzerland and is a recognized expert worldwide. Dr. Langdon was the only dermatologist from Connecticut in attendance at this unique training event, and he is very excited to apply his new knowledge to his Guilford and New Haven area patients.
“Sculptra is in a class by itself because it is a filler that provides long-lasting volume enhancement in several areas of the face,” says Dr. Langdon. “This treatment is so exciting because Sculptra can even plump areas where there has been bone loss.”
Sculptra is FDA-approved for treatment of the face, with injections placed beneath the dermis of the skin in the subcutaneous area where volume is lost because of aging. This treatment can gradually lift and smooth the skin, with no downtime and visible results within the first one or two sessions. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Sculptra increases natural collagen in multiple facial areas. In a clinical study, Sculptra patients reported having results last for up to two years after the first treatment session.
If you are looking for a long-lasting ‘volumizer” treatment to deliver subtle, natural-looking results, Sculptra may be for you!
