What Is SmartLipo® Triplex®?

SmartLipo® Triplex® uses laser energy to liquefy targeted fat before removal. Because the fat is pre-melted, it’s easier to suction, which can mean less tissue trauma, less bruising, and a quicker routine than traditional liposuction. The procedure is performed under local (tumescent) anesthesia, so you’re comfortable throughout without general anesthesia.

Am I a Candidate for SmartLipo®? 

SmartLipo® is best for people who:

• Are in good health and at/near their ideal weight
• Have stubborn, subcutaneous (“pinchable”) fat in specific areas
• Have reasonable skin elasticity
• Maintain stable weight and have realistic expectations
  

It’s not a weight-loss procedure. SmartLipo® heat can contract collagen for a mild skin-tightening effect, but it’s not a treatment for significant skin laxity. How Does a SmartLipo® Procedure Work? 

This minimally invasive laser-assisted approach uses local anesthesia and typically involves less downtime than traditional liposuction.

• Laser + Lipo difference: SmartLipo® uses a laser fiber to melt fat first. Pre-melting makes fat easier to remove, and the heat helps seal tiny blood vessels, which can reduce bruising.
  
• Tiny incisions: Dr. Langdon & Dr. Sarhan make small entry points to insert a cannula with the laser fiber. After liquefying the fat, they suction it out and close the entry points with small stitches as needed.
  
• Timing: Most sessions take about one to two hours, depending on the area(s).
  
• Number of treatments: Most patients need only one SmartLipo® treatment per area.

Recovery & Aftercare 

SmartLipo® is known for a short, manageable recovery. You may have slight soreness, swelling, and minimal bruising, which are typically easy to manage.

• 2–3 days: Most patients return to light activities.
  
• Garment: You’ll be given aftercare instructions and may be asked to wear a compression garment for about the first week to support the new contour and help swelling subside.
  
• 1–2 weeks: Many people resume full activities and exercise within one to two weeks, as advised by your surgeons.

Because the laser energy coagulates small blood vessels within the treated fat, many patients notice less bruising than with traditional lipo.
