Non-Surgical Injectables Dermal Fillers Juvederm®

Dermal fillers have become an increasingly popular anti-aging and facial enhancement treatment. Among the many brands, Juvederm® has established itself as a worthy favorite for its effectiveness, versatility, and hydrating benefits. Whether you want to smooth out wrinkles or plump your lips, Juvederm® fillers at the Langdon Center can bring your aesthetic vision to life.

What is Juvederm®?

Juvederm® is an FDA-approved dermal filler made with hyaluronic acid (HA). As a naturally-occuring substance that promotes water retention, HA is a moisturizing ingredient that promotes healthy, soft skin. The gel-like consistency of Juvederm® fillers paired with this HA allows you to subtly smooth, volumize, and contour your face.

HA fillers like Juvederm® have many uses and benefits. Since Juvederm® has several different formulas to treat specific concerns and areas of the face, the treatment is completely customizable to your unique needs and goals. Dr. Langdon or our aesthetic specialist will evaluate your cosmetic preferences and facial structure to create a personalized treatment plan with one or more fillers.

Types of Juvederm® Fillers

One of the features that has made dermal fillers so popular is their versatility. At the Langdon Center, we offer several brands of fillers to ensure there’s a good fit for each patient’s unique needs and goals. We can use multiple dermal fillers to create a customized treatment plan that rejuvenates multiple areas of your face.

Ideal for enhancing the chin and cheeks. Voluma™ can improve the definition and projection of a weak chin, restore volume to flat or deflated cheeks, or augment your cheekbones.

Volbella™ is a delicate formula suitable for the lips and under the eyes. It can give you softer, plumper lips or be injected around the mouth to smooth vertical lip lines. Volbella™ is also approved for under-eye hollows or tear troughs.

This filler is best for smoothing lines and wrinkles. Vollure™ can soften lines around your mouth and nose, such as parentheses lines, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and smile or laugh lines.

Like Vollure™, Ultra XC is ideal for reducing moderate to severe facial wrinkles. It can also be used for lip augmentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Like other dermal fillers, Juvederm® is an injectable treatment. Your provider will strategically inject small amounts around your face to restore lost facial volume, augment features, or smooth out wrinkles. The injection process is quick and simple, and a typical treatment takes about 30 minutes. This makes it a convenient lunch break procedure that fits even the busiest schedule.

Juvederm® fillers contain lidocaine to minimize discomfort. We can provide a numbing cream if you’re concerned about pain from the injections. Any discomfort should be minimal and brief, thanks to the thin needle and our gentle technique.

One of the benefits of injectable treatments like dermal fillers is that they’re minimally invasive and require no downtime. You can resume your regular activities immediately after Juvederm® injections without a recovery period. However, some minor bruising or swelling at the injection sites is normal. These side effects typically subside within a couple of days.

You can take some steps to minimize side effects, and Dr. Langdon will give you aftercare instructions to optimize your outcome. To prevent bruising, you may want to avoid blood thinners and NSAIDs for a week or two before your treatment. Though you can resume most daily activities immediately after Juvederm® injections, we recommend waiting 48 hours to do any strenuous exercise.

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like Juvederm® offer fast results. The injections immediately add new volume, so you’ll see improvements right away. If you have minor bruising and swelling, you’ll be able to appreciate your final results when these subside. Depending on your unique treatment, you can enjoy improved volume, reduced fine lines and wrinkles, plumper lips, or enhanced facial contours.

The longevity of your Juvederm® results will depend on which filler you receive and where it’s injected. For example, lip fillers may not last as long since there is a lot of movement in that area. Juvederm® fillers typically last six to 18 months. You can receive repeat injections as needed to maintain your results. Depending on your treatment needs, Dr. Langdon may also recommend longer-lasting fillers like Sculptra® or Bellafill®.

Dermal fillers are a convenient, minimally invasive option ideal for most people wanting to enhance their appearance and reduce signs of aging. Juvederm®, in particular, is a versatile filler that can treat various cosmetic concerns. Most healthy adults are good candidates for Juvederm®.

However, you may not be eligible for Juvederm® injections if you have certain allergies. Juvederm® contains trace amounts of gram-positive bacterial proteins and is contraindicated for patients with a history of allergies to such material. During a detailed consultation, Dr. Langdon will help you determine if Juvederm® is right for you.
